The Old City Arms, Hammersmith
FancyaPint?'s review...
This is one we've managed to miss for a while - god knows why - maybe we usually have another destination on the river in mind. While it looks very traditional on outside, the inside has been gutted and looks more like a bar. And the cocktail menu on the table suggests the sort of punters they're aiming at. Doom Barr was only real ale on the pumps, but it was well kept and pleasant enough. Staff were friendly and efficient, too. As it's the closest to Hammersmith Bridge, it is a great spot to enjoy the river, not to mention the Oxford Cambridge boat race. Thai food on the menu looks reasonably priced and smelled pretty good, too.

This is a gem of a pub. Friendly staff, Pool table, Juke Box, Wide screen TV's, log fire and amazing Thai food at a price that is affordable. Been in three times lately and the food has been first class on each visit. The trouble is, now that I've told you about it, I might not be able to get a table!!!!!!
