The Old Pack Horse, Chiswick
FancyaPint?'s review...
The Old Pack Horse is a good, solid pub. It has a sleepy feel out of hours, but picks up in the evening when a mixed bunch of locals fill the place up. It's a Fuller's pub and the beer's brewed just down the road so a decent pint is assured. Standing prominently at a busy junction, the Old Pack Horse's splendid Edwardian exterior is matched by a welcoming interior, with leather settees dotted about. There's a cosy fire in winter and a courtyard garden out the back for the summer - all seasons, it seems, are covered. It's been smartened up a little recently, but this hasn't affected the character. The Thai Café at the back is popular and comes recommended and it does takeaways, so if you really can only stop for a swift one, you can at least take the food out with you. A jolly decent pub and easily one of the best in the area.
