This is another neat, tidy example of the Wetherspoon' formula. Smaller than some, it feels more room than barn, has pleasant wood panelling , a choice of tables and chairs or sofas and the usual fair and competitively priced range of beers and pub food. There's nothing wrong with a well worked and targeted formula - but isn't going to the pub more than just having acceptable beer in acceptable surroundings? You can do that at home. As punters we are investing our time and money in the whole experience and need something to respond to - good or bad - for heaven's sake. We couldn't even be bothered asking if the name was because it had once been a post office. It didn't look like it. And to be honest, who cares?
