This pub looks tiny from the outside but appearances are deceiving - it's enormous on the inside. This is another old coaching inn, so there's a long history of the pub on the menu and plenty of copper stuff. The pub used to be owned by Chef & Brewer but it's now a good Fuller's pub serving all of their standard ales at the bar (Pride, Seafarers, Chiswick and Honey Dew and HSB from George Gale & Co.) and all are well kept. The pub operates a good, fair-priced menu with a regularly changing list of specials. The fish and chips are well worth a look. The higgledy-piggledy nature of the pub's labyrinthine layout adds to the charm. It's smart, modern beamed interior will never make this a cosy boozer but the staff are all very friendly (they're used to setting up tabs), the service is prompt and there's plenty going on including regular quiz nights on Mondays, a community night (to help the locals to get to know their neighbours), and even a monthly treasure hunt! We like to see pubs making a big effort like this. And it's worth a look on a warm day too, as the beer garden is one of the largest in town. When it's sunny, the garden can get busy on weekday lunches so try and time your arrival for a quarter-to the hour, just when workers are vacating tables to return to their offices.

We just had a fantastic birthday party here and everybody had such a great time. From the outside you would not believe how large the place is and what a great beer garden it hides at the back. Food and service were superb and I'm sure we were not the most modest or easiest crowd to please. A big thank you to everybody for making the day such a great success and I'm sure we will still be talking about it for a long time - apart from the fact that a lot of us will be returning time and time again. A great place to be.

It is easy to believe you are receiving poor service if you don't read the signs clearly stating to order at the bar and then be seated. The food is fantastic and the people are wonderful, don't be scared away by the other reviews...if nothing else go in and at least try the crispy fish and chips as they are phenomenal!!! You won't be disappointed.

How to find the The Queen's Head pub

Leave Hammersmith tube by the 'Broadway' exit and cross the Broadway by the crossing to the right - you should be opposite a small cafe called Cafe Creme. Take the road going north that sits to the right of the cafe and Lloyd's Bank) - Shepherd's Bush Road. Anyone who's been to School Disco will recognise it. Keep going, past the fire and police stations, until you see the Brook Green Hotel on your left and a small park on the right. Take the road on the right that runs along the south side of the park - the Queen's Head is a couple of minutes' walk down there.
