It's usually a fair rule of thumb that any pub next to a suburban train station - especially one named The Railway - is a place to avoid. Not here though. Indeed this one's by far your best bet for a drink in the area. It's styled as a 'Kitchen & Bar' yet the makeover isn't as clinical as many others. All the signs are there - the stripped wood, sofas, local art for sale, set of decks - but it lacks the studied pretension that so often mars similar places in nearby Clapham and Brixton.
