The Rose & Crown, Stoke Newington
FancyaPint?'s review...
The Rose and Crown sits on the corner of Church Street and Albion Road, its curved facade attractively done out in opaque glass, in the shadow of St Mary's Church. The interior is spacious and has a coal fireplace for winter days. A good proportion of the original Truman's interior still remains, with plenty of attractive wood panelling. The Sunday lunches are very good, and the place has been quite amenable on most of our visits, coupled with a good selection of ales. However, it's proximity to Clissold Park explains it's to be avoided at weekends if you're looking for a child and three-wheeled buggy free drinking experience.
