What could be more depressing than a Saturday evening in a large, empty pub painted in the colours of West Ham? This pub had that all-pervasive sense of listlessness and futility that reminds us of a football club in decline. Even the dogs seem to have given up hope.

How to find the The Roundhouse pub

From Becontree Tube, turn left and then left again down Rugby Road. Follow the road down to the junction with Lodge Avenue and you'll find the pub to the right across the junction. From Upney Tube, turn right down Upney Lane, then left at the main road junction, Follow the road as it curves round the Ripple Road junction and changes into Lodge Avenue. Keep going past the park and you'll reach it on the left.
