This is a fairly traditional local in the wasteland of trendy bars and ethnic clubs that seem to have infected this stretch of Battersea Park Road - good. We have to say we prefer local's locals to bars most days, unless we're feeling that little bit sophisticated. The Eagle's not sophisticated, but it does what it needs to, and that's done pretty well. There's a lovely fire for the cold days we've been having - boy did it feel good - decent beer on the taps, big screen telly if your time needs occupying, and a range of other activities that probably make it quite popular with the locals. We'll have to try the food next time, as it looks like good value. We're not entirely sure about the large portraits of Jimi Hendrix decorating two ends of the main bar area - maybe the landlord's a fan. The reproduction of Pink Floyd's Animals cover makes more sense, due to the location of the pub (no, you can't quite see it from here). It's a friendly enough local and one we'll be back to visit in the area.
