Ship York is a locals' pub that was here well before the latest redevelopments - it looks like a Thirties building, but there's been a pub here for much longer than that. It's is a big place providing good, honest food and drink and decent, friendly service for the local clientele. This pub is immaculate and the owners (and the clientele) are obviously (and justifiably) proud of the place. The locals are friendly, the landlord and lady are very welcoming, there're are quizzes and other entertainments on offer and the beer's pretty decent too.
