Given the amount of ruinous refits London's pubs experience, it's a pleasure to report when an interior is rescued by a bit of TLC. The Skiddaw - hidden away between the Harrow Road and Kilburn Park - really looks the part now. In two sections, the stained-glass and darkened interior of the bar to the left offers an ideal spot to hide away from the cares of the world. Whilst the presence of Big White Plates and a lone pump of Greene King IPA suggests a gastro-led conversion, there's still a very strong sense of a pub to this one (it's certainly your safest best in the area, given the uber-local appearance of the nearby pubs). A beautiful looking pub then but one where we given perhaps too long to cast an eye on the interior features (in other words, the service was rather slow). Still, if you like your Victorian pub interiors, be sure to add this one to your list.
