The Sydney Arms (ex-The Peer), Chelsea
FancyaPint?'s review...
Recently reopened, and renamed as the Sydney Arms. Long overdue a look-in so we took one for the team. Very civilised pub, decent range of beers on, friendly staff, couple of big screens that were strangely unobtrusive etc., etc. Food looked great. Worth a look in if you are in the area, perhaps after you've picked up your organic foie gras at the farmers' market across the road...

This pub is now called the Sydney Arms. It has been given a makeover with new décor and large opening windows which are lovely. There is an excellent range of ales on tap with Timothy Taylor's Landlord and Harvey's Bitter being but regulars. The food is noteworthy - don't forget to try the delicious tomato ketchup.

I went to the new look pub, The Peer, yesterday and was really impressed. The staff were friendly, there was an attractive airy light look to the place and the beer was great. There were 3 real ales on draught, one of which was a new Adnams, "carbon neutral" beer called East Green (4%). Well worth a visit

I think it is a crying shame that the name of The Wellesley Arms has been discontinued on this pub as it is the heritage of the area. He was the Duke of Wellington and his family was connected with St Luke's Church (next door) there was a Wellesley as Rector.
