The Tankard, Kennington
FancyaPint?'s review...
Once a staple of pub designs across London, the Tankard's mock Tudor exterior and chintzy interior are becoming a rarer and rarer sight. The feel of the place equally harks back to pub life of lore: a cheery barmaid, keeping her smile whilst her customers practise their (well-rehearsed) one-liners on each other. The drink selection isn't that great - it's a Greene King pub but we didn't see any of their beers on tap - and the food is equally one size fits all, but the Tankard does a decent enough job for the locals who stop by, as it did for us when we looked in. Not a classic, but for the Walworth Road, it'll do.

How to find the The Tankard pub
Kennington is the closest tube station, but traversing through its back streets to the Walworth Road can be a confusing venture. Best bet is to catch one of the many buses listed below from outside Elephant and Castle tube.
