What kind of pub is conjured up in your imagination when you think of Caledonian Road? For in the midst of this long street filled with rather scary looking Irish pubs (even more than in Kilburn) is a, well, less scary looking Irish pub. In fact, from the a distance it looks splendid, adorned with flowers galore. If only they had taken as much trouble with the rest of the pub as the flora it would be superb, but sadly some TLC is needed here. Cigarette holes in the upholstery aren't a good sign and the flaking black paint on the outside only serves to reveal the lovely original red tiles underneath. Still, it's an honest enough pub for the locals and (as you'd expect) serves a good Guinness. Only a one pint rating at the moment, but a few tins of emulsion and it could get another.
