With competing Trumans and Charringtons signage on the outside and tiled inside as well as out, the Thornhill is a rather nice specimen, although some of the original architectual features have been altered or are missing altogether. The beer's good (seems to be Brakspear and London Pride as regular favourites), the landlord’s friendly and it's pretty comfortable, if a little on the stripped down side, all in all. They’ve also got regular live music nights and themed nights to choose from. We’ve not tried the food, but will aim to do so next time. It’s located a little further up Caledonian road than a lot of people are willing to go but frankly, it's worth the trip.
