The Valley, Charlton
our final review

The Valley has the appearance of an unwelcoming estate pub, slightly at odds with its location in the genteel (well, as genteel as SE7 gets) Victorian terrace of Elliscombe Road. But nonetheless, estate pub it is and don't expect any great surprises when you go in, maybe apart from the pleasant beer garden. The pub is standard estate pub fare - big TV screen, usual poor selection of beers, although they did have Courage Light Ale in bottles, which is about as good as it gets. Obviously, given the location and the pub's name, it's no surprise that this pub is CAFC through and through. Not particularly pleasant, but then again, the friendly staff and beer garden slightly mark it out over similar pubs.
