The Water Poet, Spitalfields
FancyaPint?'s review...
If you're looking for a smart boozer, you've come to the wrong place, the Water Poet has thrown its heart and soul into the scruffy Bohemian trendy bar look and pulled it off. It's a huge place with rooms seemingly in all directions and even a large outside space - obviously devoted to smoking with the ban. The beer's pretty good with offerings such Flower's, and Landlord on the hand pumps and the usual bar type stuff you expect in a place like this. The clientele is very mixed, but they seem to mix happily, nevertheless, as everybody's here for a good time and, by Jove, they get one. There's just one caveat - it can get pretty crowded in the evenings, particularly when some enterprising soul books one of the back rooms or a section of the garden. As we said of its previous incarnation, the old Pewter Platter tavern, you could do far worse in this neck of the woods.

It looked like it was a decent enough pub, but unfortunately it was doing food> God awful is an understatement. They had run out of chips???? and the cod loin stew. So i settled for the so called 6 hour cooked pork belly. For a start it looked like someone had shovelled food on to the plate in no particular order. The roast potatoes tasted like the previous days leftovers and the Pork Belly was tough the cabbage was tasteless........and ....and ... then I gave up. The guy who picked up my plate(still full) didn`t even question it. Unbelieveably bad food but lesson learnt for me and now hopefully you
