The White Horse, Hoxton
FancyaPint?'s review...
The last truly rough pub on Hoxton Street has now bitten the dust, only to be replaced with a rather more decent, modern public house. We say modern, but there is certainly a retro feel, as all the furniture looks like it came from a 1980s kitchen, giving it a cosy and nostalgic feel. Music posters adorn the walls and a pinball machine hides at the back. There is a great selection of Meantime keg beers on tap and the service is first class. Quiet earlier on in the week (probably just a little too far from Hoxton square to be on people's radar) is picks up later in the week when there are DJs, which the friendly owner explained are aimed at a more mature late 20s - early 30s crowd, in contrast to the nearby teeny-bopper Macbeth. Its only been open a relatively short time and we wish them much success.

The White Horse is a offering Craft Beers from London, Pieminster Pies, and with a function room with a darn fine sound system in the basement.
