Now owned by the same people who run The Black Lion down the road in Kilburn, The Windmill has improved a lot over the past year. An uninspiring facade hides a decent, light interior and a beautiful beer garden out back. The new owners have also installed one guest ale (although that seems to be permanently serving a rather average pint of Doom Bar for the last few months). The staff are pleasant and the food is good. There is sport on the TV (and also available in the beer garden) and board games for those who enjoy their activities in person. However, whenever we venture down it seems 50:50 whether it will be open or not. Bank holidays or weekday lunchtimes - don't bet on it!

This pub has just reopened and its an awesome little spot. The beer tastes great, they've got a simple, but well executed, food menu and the cherry on the cake has to be the enclosed beer garden out back - on a sunny day you can totally forget where you are for a few hours...hope it lasts!!
