Tin Goose, Heathrow
FancyaPint?'s review...
We know, you have to be flying somewhere to get to this pub - but if you are, this is one to head for. It's good to see Geronimo Inns have decided all airport drinking holes don't have to be grim and miserable. Gone are the days when they tended to rake it in from the hoards of exiled smokers desperate to get as much nicotine and alcohol into their systems before boarding that plan. As a result, groups like Geronimo have decided they don't need to be dark holes for clandestine matters and it seems to work. A combination of comfy sofas and chairs, decent beer, including two real ales, friendly and accommodating staff and a reasonably priced menu (even though they could increase their prices for a captive audience, they match their landside counterparts prices). The decor is very modern, but comfortable, nonetheless, acknowledging the reason you're there with views over the tarmac, a large map of the world on one wall and clocks telling the time in various capital cities across the globe. If you remember the grotty, bad old days of airport boozers, this should lift your spirits and make you feel like you're on holiday even before you go.
