The Tollington has recently been refurbished in true gastropub style and now has the statutory plasma screens (4 of the blighters), blown-up photos of Holloway in ye olden times (quite interesting, actually), giant refectory tables, lots of outdoor seating and more blonde wood than you can shake a stick at. It's all very sparkly and new and slightly lacking in atmosphere (perhaps only to be expected given its recent reopening), but the staff are friendly, there's an OK selection of lagers and cask ales, and the Thai menu is delicious and great value for money. Rather impressively, if you're a terribly busy sort of person, you can ring in your order 30 minutes in advance and they'll have your meal waiting for you. There's a roast on Sundays too. All in all, a very salubrious pub in a less-than-salubrious area. Worth a look-in.
