OK, we know this place is really a restaurant, but you can stay for a pint in here and as it is a rather nice bar, it would be a shame to leave it out. You won't find any hand-pumped real ales here, but there are a few beers on tap (eg Hoegaarden) so you can get your pint, but most people who come here just to drink, will come here for the spiffing cocktails. Sipping your Raspberry Martini, or quaffing your pint, you will find yourself in a modern, well-appointed, multilevel, bar - the cool antithesis of its folksy, quirky, sister establishment, the Garrison, just down the road. The food looks pretty good, but as we'd already eaten, we weren't in the mood to try it this time round, we suspect we'll be back soon.

How to find the Village East pub

This is not the most direct route, but it's the one that's least likely to get you lost. Leave London bridge station by the Tooley Street exit, turn right down Tooley Street and walk towards Tower Bridge. Turn right at the second railway arch (Bermondsey Street) and walk under the railway lines and along the Bermondsey Street until you almost get to the end - you'll see the place on your left.
