Well, it hasn't suffered the gutting and total dining experience makeover so many Young's pubs have. But it has embraced whisky to the extent the Whisky menu takes up one end of the pub! The range is pretty varied and there are a few rare examples to be had if you look closely. Okay, it's been tidied up, but it still feels like a pub. Pub grub, decent ale and the whisky selection alone make this one we'll be coming back to and the friendly and efficient staff don't hurt either. Sadly, it would appear the chess club has gone, however. All we can figure is there must have been something in the local water, as the Windsor castle nearby still has a club of it's own...
