Wellington, Strand
FancyaPint?'s review...
A recent tidy up hasn't hurt this big old pub with the Edwardian interior. The beer selection lives up to Nicholson's usual standards and being able to try one you've not heard of before you buy always wins points in our book. There's an upstairs room which is pretty large with loads of seating. Last time we were in, waves of people passed in and out (at the expected times) but didn't substantially alter the fairly relaxed mood of the place. The story is a little different on a Friday nights as its prominent corner location makes it ideal for people meeting to enter theatreland and Covent Garden, but even then it's not as mobbed as some of the others. This is a pleasant enough place and reasonably well priced considering where it is.
