Westminster Arms, Walford
FancyaPint?'s review...
The Westminster Arms has the privilege of being the closest pub to the Central Methodist Hall and Westminster Abbey. As a result the upstairs of the pub is predominately standing only to cater for the busy mix of tourists, conference attendees and politicos. The wine bar downstairs (where they serve the food) is far more charming, with wooden booths and flagstone flooring. Now a Shepherd Neame pub, the beer's - hardly surprising - all from the Kent brewery. It still suffers from its location, and with a mostly transient clientele, it's hard to build the sort of atmosphere or service a local seems to generate. That said, the presence of a division bell suggests some of the punters are a bit more regular/local than you might think.
