The White Lion is an attractive and deceptively large pub off the beaten track around the back of the nearby Spires shopping precinct. The interiors looking rather tired at the moment and there's little excuse to have peeling wallpaper, but given the limited choice of quality establishments in Barnet, its worth popping in at least to try one of the four well kept ales. As with many provincial boozers, however, if you're not a local on first name terms with the landlord, you could end up feeling like the person at the party no-one invited.

How to find the White Lion pub

High Barnet: Right out of the station and up the hill. Cross the road, go past the Spires shopping mall and turn left into St. Albans Road. It's about two hundred metres on the right.
