White Swan, Twickenham
FancyaPint?'s review...
The White Swan is a famous rugby pub that's still worth a look even if you're not a fan of the oval ball. It fills up pretty rapidly though, even though it's pretty roomy with all kinds of crannies on different levels. Still, beer garden and barbecues for the summer, but note the raised entrance - the river often breaks it's banks here meaning you can get marooned in the pub if you're not (or possibly if you are) careful.

Amongst the best in Twickenham, this place gets packed whenever the weather's nice. People sit out on the pavement (it's a quiet road) and when the tide comes in, kids and dogs play in the river.
The new owners refurbished it last year (or was it the year before?) and met with some resistance from locals and regulars as the refurb was a bit "chain pub" (we called it All Bar Swan). They've since toned it down and it's mostly back to the way it should be.
Always a decent selection of beer too. Roll on summer.
