Wibbas Down Inn, Wimbledon
FancyaPint?'s review...
We get a bit complacent about Wetherspoon pubs because a) they do a lot right b) they also get some things wrong c) the clientele are often interchangeable. While the Wibbas isn't exactly earth-shattering, it's not terrible either. It's got one of the best selections of real ales in the Wimbledon area and they do look after them. But, it's a bit like going to one of the large hotel chains - so many things are exactly the same it's difficult to tell if you're in London, Birmingham or Dundee (okay, the accents would give it away, but you know what we mean). So, being objective, it's okay. And being across the road from the Wimbledon Theatre probably doesn't hurt their business any. If you don't fancy the nearby O'Neill's or Billabong, then this is probably the one for you.
