This place has kept the old name, so you'd be forgiven for thinking you were in Oz Clarke country - to us, it's really an "ale and wine house" and jolly fine ale it is too. Fine ale

Avoid Avoid Avoid - you'd think a refurb would be an improvment, what the hell has happened to this place?
Just had lunch here, the menus were wrong, waitress said to us "oh havent I changed them, we've just opened last week, so we havent quite worked out a system yet!" REALLY!!!! Great start. Ordered the pulled pork bap for £6.50, add chips for an extra £1.50, which we did. The food came up the spoonful of pork was in a cheap seeded bun, the chips were undercooked. No customer service, waitress didnt come back to see if the food was ok. For three of us having the same food, two wines and a coke, the bill came in with a service charge at £43.00 FOR LUNCH, WITH CRAP SERVICE. Avoid this place and go round the corner to the Kings Stores instead, good food, decent service.
