Windsor Castle, Clapham Junction
FancyaPint?'s review...
The surprising thing about the Windsor Castle is that despite being as near to Clapham Junction train station as the over-popular Slug and Lettuce or Falcon, it was rather quiet here. The small wood-paneled front bar was pleasant enough and the large, half-timbered, separate back bar was an honest, no-nonsense drinking space, with a smattering of older locals, interspersed with a few younger ones. On the pumps, the Bombardier was well kept and an exceptionally cheap menu (with pretty much everything under a fiver) may not have been gastropub quality, but this isn't a gastropub. Overall, this is a perfectly acceptable local boozer and a good location to meet people coming out from Clapham Junction station.
