Refurbed and updated with chrome and glass and framed photos on the walls, this one is still going great guns. It doesn't appear they're having much trouble pulling in the punters now. It serves decent beer, with Deuchars, Bombardier and IPA on when we were in last and there's the promise of reasonably priced food, too. The garden at the back is a bit of an oasis, and far enough from Stratford's one-way system to keep the hydrocarbons down. The racing on a Saturday afternoon suggests it's still a bit of an Irish pub, but the punters definitely didn't mind. Give it a go.
