This pub is all about its setting - in the pretty village/suburb of Thames Ditton and right on the riverside. Though our visit was in winter, we can picture whiling away long summer days watching boats go by on one of the tables which goes down to the river (if you ignore the car park which also shares this space). Inside, the pub is a bit 'olde worlde charm by numbers' and the refurb job makes it feel a bit faux despite the obvious age of the building. But there was a good selection of real ales on when we visited and the service was friendly and welcoming. A nice pub if you are in the area.

From Thames Ditton train station turn right onto Station Road then turn left onto the High Street. Follow the road round, keeping left at the roundabout and staying on the High Street until you reach the pub on the right hand side, where the road becomes Summer Road. About a fifteen minute walk.
