Since we were last here, it's got a bit grubbier, but somehow that makes it better. OK, our latest visit was lunchtime, but we still liked it. It's still a trendy destination in Hoxton Square, but we think you could do a lot worse. It's not one for real ale types - CAMRA won't be putting it on a list anytime soon - but the Guinness is very nice and the selection of lagers and ciders will cover most other beer drinkers. Largely the haunt of locals and Hoxtonites, but we won't hold it against them.

Leave by an Old Street (East) exit and down Old Street, past the fire station. When you get to the main junction, with the traffic lights, take the left hand fork down Old Street Street. Carry on along Old Street until you get to the junction with Rufus Street on your right. Turn right into Rufus Street and then left and right into Hoxton Square. The bar is up on the left in the North West corner.
