A real little gem, hidden away in a labyrinth of alleys and courtyards in the walled centre of Derry known as the Craft Village, we're happy to recommend the Forte Inn. While it's both a friendly Irish pub and also a cosy, but unpretentious restaurant, it's a (slightly upmarket) pub first and foremost. Bar snacks are also available through the daytime. It seems to be popular, particularly, with smarter locals. It's well-run and very civilised. As is often the case with Irish pubs, there are no real ales, but the Guinness is good, there are a few other beers, Magner's cider, and so on. A good find in central Derry.
