What a glorious little green tiled pub, juxtaposed against the glass-heavy skywards facing modern developments all around. Could this be anything but a great pub? A beautiful interior, clientele made up from all walks of life, four real ales, pool and football tables and a good jukebox. The landlord's laid back, the beer's excellent, there's lots of nooks and crannies to get lost in and the food's good, honest fare. Definitely one for the books.

From Manchester Oxford Road: turn right out of the station into Whitworth Street West and get onto Oxford Street. At the next left, turn into Great Bridgewater Street. Follow it around and bear left. The pub is straight ahead on the right. From Deansgate: Take the Whitworth Street West exit and turn right along Whitworth. At the junction with Albion Street, turn left and then turn right into Great Bridgewater Street. The pub is ahead on the left.
