The White Swan Hotel, Middleham
FancyaPint?'s review...
As an affluent racing township (their word for it) it's inevitable that Middleham would get its own version of a modern gastropub and the White Swan Hotel fits the bill very nicely. Once a coaching inn, the White Swan has been given a lick of paint, some modern decoration and a menu made fit for the 21st Century. There's good quality, local produce aplenty - our favourite being the Black Sheep (the liquid rather than the mutton variety) - and this provides the main attraction for the place for us. The beer is excellent and the food is decent and if you're lucky you can get a seat by the open fire on a winter's day. As the White Swan's a hotel, it's primarily a restuarant
