Two Brewers, Northaw
FancyaPint?'s review...
For sure, the Two Brewers is a picturesque pub. Inside, too, still retains a certain charm, with old beams and a few nooks and crannies to ensconce yourself in. It's split into four areas: dining room on the left, two small bar areas in the middle and a more basic utilitarian working mans style room - complete with dart board - on the right. They need to move the monolithic quiz machine, though - currently plonked next to the bar - to a more discreet home. Like the Sun up the road, there's a large back garden, alongside a a scattering of seats out the front and a large car park. Three ales will keep the beer people happy, while the food is pretty decent and served served until 4pm on the Sunday we visited. With pleasantly friendly service and customers, this is a solid three pint country pub.

A very professionally run pub with extremely friendly and obliging staff with a good choice of well kept beers and lagers. The fine selection of food available deserves special mention and the recent introduction of Pie & Mash was a big hit with me. If you like salt beef this also available and cooked to perfection. All in all a nice unspoilt country pub retaining most of its original features in a nice tranquil country village.

On a quiet and wet Tuesday, the pub seemed very sad: one of the cosier alcoves appeared to be filled with the publican's paperwork or something similar, and the reception from the barmaid seemed as chilly as the weather outside. Definitely a local's drinking hole. The IPA was good, but we moved up the road to try "the Sun" after that first half pint.

My boyfriend and I decided to visit this lovely village pub for Valentine's day. We found both staff and regular locals extremely friendly and were made to feel very welcome.
We also had a meal during our visit. The menu is a bit limited, but adequate, and the meal was nicely presented and the portions were more than ample.
I'm always a little wary of pub loos, but the facilities here would rival any good quality hotel, being extremely clean and well presented.
All in all, I'd have no hesitation in recommending this pub. You won't find "haute cuisine", but you will find some good home cooking.
