The Cock & Hoop, Nottingham
FancyaPint?'s review...
The city centre location makes this a prime choice for the afterwork or lunchtime visitor, and it's also handy for the new Nottingham Contemporary art gallery. On our visit, or a wintry Sunday afternoon, it was quiet - almost somnolent. Yet there are plenty of good reasons to visit, foremost among them a fine range of real ale, with Jennings products to the fore. The pub itself sits in an old Georgian house (there's an upscale hotel attached) and the décor has a traditional feel to it; by contrast the menu is mixture of modern, gastropub stuff with some more traditional fare such as a daily pie and pint special offer.
