Our original review has gone missing! Ah, well, time for a new one anyway. Previously the Royal Oak in Rusper had everything we could think of in a pub - plenty of seats, cheery owners, chatty locals, big fireplace, comfy Chesterfields, loads of micro-brewed ales, food if you ask (no menu), sweetshop behind the bar, regular events (pantomime horse chariot race, morris dancers, pub quizzes, charity fundraisers) and so on. It stretched us to wish our pint rating went as high as 7 pints. And then they started doing rooms! 3 rooms located above the pub, comfortably furnished and very reasonably priced (£55-65 per room incl. full English brekkie with the tastiest farm-reared ingredients). It might just be worth 8 pints. Give Sara and Clive a visit next time you're down this way. You will not regret it, unless you've got kids with you or you're a lager drinker. You'll find neither inside. Wotevs.
