Still arguably the best place to meet up for gigs at the nearby Shepherd's Bush Empire - and the fact it gets before gigs tends to bear this out - this one has decent beer on tap, friendly enough regulars and genial staff who seem more than happy to pour a pint in short order, regardless of how busy it is, and put up with the influx going to gigs or other events nearby. It's had a bit of a tidy-up, but nothing else has really changed. Food looks reasonable and the portion sizes are generous. The big tellies spread around the place show the sport when it's on, and the locals seem pretty happy with the place, all in all. There's a downstairs bar which takes overflow from the main bar. This is one worth remembering, particularly if you've had little or no luck getting served at one of the trendier places nearby.

A Barracuda Inns pub that looks and feels like the ex Wetherspoons that it is. Over loud music and a standard selection of beers although, at £2.80, good value for the area. Wouldn't hurry back.

From Shepherd's Bush Central Line: Exit the station, turn right and keep walking. When you reach the end of the Green you'll see the pub in front of you. From Shepherd's Bush Hammersmith and City Line: exit station, turn left, and walk down to Shepherd's Bush Green. You'll pass the pub on the way
