The Boot, St. Albans
FancyaPint?'s review...
If they were giving prizes for authentic looking pubs then the Boot would certainly be a contender. Sitting next to a medieval clock tower, the Boot still retains a feeling of its original 15 century origins, complete with low ceilings, beams and uneven floors. Being in the centre of town it does attract an excess of shoppers and can understandably get pretty busy, but the ambience is excellent, as are both the ale and lager choices. A proper pub.
