The ringing of a bell at 3pm to indicate last orders was certainly a shock to our system upon visiting the White Swan, especially as the TV in the corner was still showing a Premiership match that had only reached half-time. It didn't leave enough time to test out our bar billiards skills or all the guest ales, but with its location just seconds away from the shops of Market Place there were a number of other options available. A group of regulars on stools at the bar provided the only other custom, though this isn't to suggest it's a pub only for locals. We certainly found it a good stop for an admittedly quicker than expected pint
