The Central, St. Andrews
FancyaPint?'s review...
A smart pub based around an island bar, with a reasonable but not exceptional range of beers. It's not massive, and as such can become the sort of place where everyone present knows everyone else present. There's a jukebox with an unremarkable selection of music. All in all , this isn't at all unpleasant, but not fantastic, either. The pub lives up to its name - it's bang in the middle of St Andrews town centre. During term times, it's popular with students, probably so much so in fact that it might rapidly become intolerant for those not enamoured even of the generally gentle and cultured types of students that tend to frequent this bar, although the atmosphere is entirely different outwith university terms. Smart, engraved mirrors on the walls make the place appear larger than it is, and food is served a lot of the time too.
