A really great pub this and although it may not be to everyone's taste since it is at heart a community local it is without doubt what pubs should be about.
Beer was good with 3 Taps on - well kept and nicely dispensed.
The beer, food, welcome and service is excellent and if there were a six pint award they'd be seriously in the running.
Having arrived late at night nothing was too much trouble - re-opening the ktchen without fuss or hesitation. In the other bar there was a quiz night - really well attended - along with Play your cards right for a big jackpot and done with a good deal of humour and enjoyment. Good to see that events can be so well supported.
My only issue, if issue it is, is that it was so hard to find. You have to drive through a housing estate to get to it and this makes it an unfortunate "hidden gem" - if you didn't know where you were going I think you'd miss it.
Search this pub out - you will not be disappointed I promise.
