A difficult pub to find but so worth the effort.
When we've looked for what we would term our "ideal pub" you want good service, good beer and good atmosphere - the Blue Bell exceeds on every level.
Service was above and beyond (re-opened the kitchen for us), beer was a good selection and excellently kept and the atmosphere was great - lively, involving, friendly and it all stemmed from the staff who were great at encouraging participation in the Quiz night as well as making sure other customers were looked after and spoken to.
It would be a big 5 except the pub is so hard to find - and whilst it would be nice to keep these gems to yourself, it isn't fair - the Blue Bell should be shared with as many people as possible. People of the North East - get out there and find this pub, you will not be disappointed...on any level.
