Despite having half a handsome old Truman's tiled exterior (courtesy of the Luftwaffe), the Royal Oak is a rather sparse affair. The walls are bare and net curtains prevent anyone seeing in or out of the pub. A lighter note,...
Directly opposite the Silverlink railway line, underneath the new DLR extension and in front of some dismal tower blocks, the Henley Arms has not been geographically blessed. On our visit, constant drilling didn't help the...
Derelict! Didn't take much work, in our opinion, the old clientele seemed to have done a lot of the work.

Located on a busy junction on the Woolwich waterfront, the Castle sits between the art deco splendours of the Gala bingo hall (formerly Granada Theatre, opened in 1937) and the <a href="http://www.new-wine.org"...
There's a lot going on in the area, but not at this pub. It's now derelict.
The Earl of Chatham offers something different to the Woolwich drinking scene. It's a bright place refurbished in the modern style, serving decent drink (wine list, Special and London Pride amongst the beers) and a varied menu...
The Pullman has been demolished to make way for the DLR extension to Woolwich Arsenal. Never mind.
