JOHN O'GAUNT INN, stockbridge
12 Apr 2012
We visited the John O'Gaunt on the day it re-opened (April 2012). It is under new management and has been completely refurbished but it still retains the unique atmosphere of a small pub in a picturesque hamlet. The pub still offers the traditional real ales and ciders but there was a much better selection of wine. We had lunch and it was really excellent: all home-cooked foods, including the desserts, and the portions were generous yet the prices were very reasonable. The staff were lovely and very enthusiastic. There was a great atmosphere from the locals who had formed an objection group to save the pub from being converted into flats. We had a great time and will be going back.
