For a pub on the wrong side of Hammersmith Bridge, this is a pretty good pub. Maybe it's the distance from Hammersmith proper that makes the difference. Who knows? All we know is that it's on a main road and a few steps farther than the obvious pubs along the river. Okay, it's not on the river, but it has a large garden which is a lovely place to be on a sunny afternoon. There was a mini rush when we arrived, and the solitary but friendly barman was a little under pressure, but he coped admirably serving us a lovely pint of Caledonian Brewery's "Lipsmacker", a light ale perfect for a summer's (okay, spring) day. They've got a reasonable selection of beers available and it looks like they get regular guest beers. The wine list and selection of other drinks suggest just about everyone should be adequately catered for. It's pretty modern inside, suggesting a gastro slant, but we didn't sample the fayre on this occasion. We'll definitely keep this one in mind next time we're I the neighbourhood.
