The Grog & Gruel, Fort William
FancyaPint?'s review...
This is a splendid, warm, welcoming, respite from the battering wind and rain that predominates this far north and west too often. It is almost certainly one of the better places to recuperate in Fort William, after coming down from Ben Nevis, or just somewhere else along the coast or Great Glen, say. A proper pub, cosy, wood-furnished, with a fine selection of real ales, and plenty of quality Highlands produce (wild boar sausage, Stornoway black pudding, that sort of thing) on the bar food menu. There's also a separate restaurant upstairs. Service is friendly and attentive; all in all this is a pub we're happy to recommend.
