This is a gem of a pub - it's got something for everyone no matter what time or day of the week you choose to visit. It's a lively place on a Friday and Saturday nights with a mixed crowd and a real pub atmosphere. The food is okay, there's a restaurant upstairs, and the drink is excellent. There's an interesting and very well kept range of beers on the hand pumps - the regular is Harvey's and some unusual beers and old favourites make up the rest, changing pretty regularly. A great pub that's worth going out of your way for and what with the recent refurbishment to the and extension of the back room there's now more chance of getting a seat. But it does get very, very busy when Borough Market is on (Fridays and Saturdays), with traders and visitors alike piling in.

It never seems to disappoint, despite its hectic location and tight interior. The staff are usually friendly and will let you try the ale (queue permitting) before buying, and the selection of beers is more than enough to keep you occupied for a fair while. Will usually gravitate here if in the area.
