The World's End is a large no-nonsense, no-frills pub, close to the historic 5436Tilbury Fort. It's a well-kept old building that has the singular feature of all the infill in the interior partition walls has been knocked out, but the framing left in, so the pub is divided into various areas, but you can see into them all from where ever you are- it's not an unpleasant effect, just a little surprising. On the large central bar, there are three real ales on the hand pumps and they're decently kept, and an average selection of lagers, cider, wines, spirits etc. There's plenty of simple pub grub at pretty cheap prices and the service is friendly and quick. It's a good, standard, well-run pub, well-suited to families in the daytime and locals in the evening. Whether you're in these parts to visit the fort, do a spot of fishing or simply going for a walk along the river, the World's End provides a welcome spot for a little rest, relaxation and refreshment.

Visited over the Easter break. The staff were rude and unfriendly and the bar maid was aggressive. Kitchen preparation hygiene must be poor as there was hair buttered into my sandwich.
